Insights

# Your records already hold the answers.

Every visit, form and reading is already in Salisan. Insights lets you ask it questions in plain words and see the answer as a chart.

Every line is a record.

01 The questions

## Every clinic has questions.

1. Which age groups book online, and which still phone us? Survey answers · age
1. Which conditions are more common in our women, and which in our men? Conditions · sex
1. How does blood pressure change with age, for women and for men? Vitals · age · sex
1. Are we busier than last year, month by month? This year · last year

The answers are already in your records. Getting them out takes an analyst.

02 Where the data goes

## Records go in. Answers don't come out.

Documents, forms, readings and appointments pile up in the record. Much of it sits in free text, or is never looked at again. So a simple question turns into an export, a spreadsheet and a wait.

[Illustration: A visit document. The facts that are coded sit on a line of their own; most of what was written sits in free text.]

What the research says

03

## Five steps to one number.

The usual route

1. 1 Export the data
1. 2 Clean it up in a spreadsheet
1. 3 Ask someone who can build a chart
1. 4 Wait
1. 5 Check it is still current

### With Insights

1. Ask in plain words
1. See the chart, with its figures
1. Keep it on a dashboard

## So just ask the Agent.

[Illustration: The records gather into a column chart with one colour per series, and the tallest column of each series stands out.]

Insights reads the records you already keep and draws the chart.

05 The Agent at work

## Say what you want to know. The Agent does the analyst's work.

Ask in plain words. Watch every step. The chart comes with the figures it rests on.

[Illustration: A question typed to the Agent, the steps it shows while it works, its answer and the chart it draws: more online bookings in the 30s, more phone bookings in the 50s.]

06 Ask anything

## Ask anything about your practice.

From a quick count to a question that crosses your data. Each answer is a real run of the Agent on a sample clinic.

07 Or build it yourself

## Finish the sentence. Get the chart.

Choose what to count, how to split it and who to include. Seven chart types, more than 70 variables from your own records.

[Illustration: The chart builder: show a count of appointments by weekday, choose a chart type, see the result live.]

[Illustration: The list of what you can ask about, in groups: patients, appointments, visits, vitals, forms, conditions and requests.]

08 Keep it

## Keep the answers that matter.

Add any chart to a dashboard and it stays current. Build one for the front desk and another for the practice owner.

Add the chart to the dashboard.

[Illustration: A chart is added to a dashboard, saved as a widget, and appears among the dashboard's other widgets.]

[Illustration: Two groups of patients, asthma and hypertension, compared by age: asthma is more common in younger patients, hypertension from the 40s on.]

09 Compare groups

## Study your own patients.

Save a group, like everyone with hypertension, and set it beside another. Age, sex and outcomes over time, side by side.

A group needs at least 20 patients.

10

## Questions about Insights

No. Insights reads facts that leave out names, birth dates, addresses and free text, and it only ever returns totals.

## Bring your questions.

Fifteen minutes with the real product. Ask it what you would ask your own records.
