Salisan

My authenticator code is not accepted

Fix a rejected code, a lost authenticator, or a practice that requires two-factor before you can continue.

After your password, Salisan asks for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app, or it stops you with Two-factor authentication required.

Check these first

  1. Use the current code. Open your authenticator app, find the entry for your Salisan account and enter the code it shows now. Check that your device sets its clock automatically. Salisan suggests this whenever a code is rejected.
  2. Use a recovery code instead. On the code screen choose Use a recovery code instead. You saw your recovery codes under Save your recovery codes when you set up two-factor. Each one works only once. Choose Use authenticator app instead to go back.
  3. Wait if the account is locked. After too many failed attempts the message tells you to wait 15 minutes before you sign in again.
  4. Start sign-in again if you see "sign in again". If the message says to sign in again for your security, the sign-in session ran out. Go back to the sign-in page and start over.
  5. Set up two-factor if your practice requires it. Choose Open security settings, or go to Settings → Security. Under Two-factor authentication choose Enable 2FA, confirm your password if your account has one, scan the QR code with an authenticator app and enter the 6-digit code. Save the recovery codes before you choose Done. Passkeys do not satisfy this requirement. Accounts without a password, such as Google, passkey or single sign-on accounts, go straight to the QR code.
  6. Verify this session. If two-factor is already set up and the practice still blocks you, you may have signed in with Google or a passkey. In Settings → Security choose Verify and enter a code.

Choose Remember this device for 30 days only on a computer that only you use.

If it still doesn't work

If you have lost your authenticator and have no unused recovery codes, nobody in your practice can reset it for you in the workspace. Organization → People shows who has two-factor, but it has no reset. Use the Contact page on the Salisan website and choose Support. See Contact support.

Send the email address you sign in with, the step where it fails, the time and the message you see. Do not send codes, and never use a colleague's account or codes.
