My note is not saving

Find out why a note shows an unsaved or failed state and how to keep your text safe.

ForDoctorsNurses

The indicator in a visit note or patient document reads Unsaved changes or Couldn't save — retrying instead of Saved. Text you can see in the editor may not be stored yet.

Check these first

  1. Keep the tab open. The note saves about a second after you stop typing. The indicator moves from Unsaved changes to Saving… to Saved. After a failed save Salisan keeps your text and tries again when you next type, when you leave the note, and when you sign. If you reload or close the tab with unsaved text, the browser warns you. Choose to stay.
  2. Check your connection and session. A failed save can mean the device is offline or the connection dropped. It can also mean your session ended. If a message says to sign in again, do that in a new tab and keep this one open. Then type one more character to trigger another attempt. Wait for Saved before you sign or leave.
  3. Reload only when asked. If another tab or a colleague changed the same document, a message says it changed since you opened it, with a Reload button. Reloading replaces your screen with the saved version. First copy any new text you want to keep. Avoid editing one document in two tabs.
  4. Check whether the note is read-only. A withdrawn document shows Withdrawn. and cannot be edited. You also need write access to the patient's clinical records. In a paused workspace every record is read-only.
  5. Check for a signed note. You can still edit a signed note if you have write access. Salisan keeps the signed version and shows Edited after signing. Choose See what changed to compare the two.

If it still doesn't work

Keep the note open and copy the text to a safe place that your practice approves for patient data.

Then open Help & support from the page where saving fails. See Contact support. Send the time, the kind of note (visit or document), the indicator text and the exact message. Do not paste the note into your request.
