Salisan

The Agent and you

Learn what the Agent can do, when it asks before acting, and how its credits work.

The Agent is Salisan's AI assistant. It reads what you are allowed to read, drafts text and prepares work. It proposes, and you decide. Nothing it writes into a patient's record, and nothing it sends or books, takes effect until you accept or confirm it. You remain responsible for what you keep, record, send and sign.

For example, Dr Jansen asks the Agent for a referral letter for Anna de Vries. The Agent drafts it from Anna's record. She reads it and edits it. She keeps the text, then confirms the email that sends it.

What the Agent can do

Open it with Agent in the sidebar, with Ask the Agent on the patient list, or with Ask inside a note. Brief me on Home asks it for your daily brief. It can:

  • Answer questions from the records you can open, and name the sources.
  • Draft notes, letters, forms, reports and email templates.
  • Find free appointment times and prepare a booking.
  • Prepare you for a visit, or summarise your day.
  • Propose allergies, diagnoses, medications and readings from what you tell it.
  • Create and assign tasks.
  • Look up general guidance without sending patient details.

It does not give diagnoses, doses or treatment and test choices for an individual patient, and it does not rank patients or label readings as abnormal. Those decisions stay with you.

It asks before it acts

The Agent always asks before it sends an email or a form, books, moves or cancels an appointment, or moves a file to another shelf. A card shows the patient, recipient and details. Decline stops the action. After you approve an email or a form, it waits a short time before leaving, so you can still undo it.

By default it also asks before it creates or assigns a task, completes, reopens or cancels a task, or renames a file. You can change these choices in Agent settings → Approvals. See Agent settings.

Only a confirmed receipt shows that something happened. A draft email has not been sent, and a suggested time has not been booked.

Proposals wait for you

Text the Agent writes appears in your note at once, with a changed mark. Choose Keep to accept it or Dismiss to remove it. Why shows what it was based on. Keep removes the mark. The words are already part of the saved note.

Clinical entries are different. In a visit note, a block from the Agent is a draft marked Draft · records when you Record. It joins the record only when you add it, as with your own drafts. On the Record page, a proposed row joins the record when you choose Keep. Review values, dates and units first. See Saved, recorded and signed.

What limits it

The Agent works as you. It can open only the patients and records you can open, so a missing patient stays missing. See Roles and access.

A patient can be excluded from AI assistance in their details, under Exclude from AI assistance. The Agent then cannot read the record or act for that patient, and recording and transcription stay off. Patients under 18 are excluded automatically.

You also need the permission to use AI features. Every built-in role has it, and a custom role may not. Credits also limit use, as described below.

Credits

Agent use is measured in credits. The practice shares one pool each month, based on its plan and its practitioner seats. The pool renews monthly.

  • The chat shows Credits left this month, and what the current chat and the last reply used. Agent settings → Usage shows your limit and the practice balance.
  • An owner or credit manager can give a person a monthly limit under Organization → Settings → AI credits. A limit is a ceiling, not a reservation.
  • When your credits or the practice's credits run out, the Agent stops until the date shown. The owner can switch on extra credits with a monthly budget.
  • If a payment is not resolved, the Agent pauses.

Plan details are in Billing.

What this means for you

  • Read what the Agent produces as a colleague's draft.
  • Check the patient and recipient on every card before you approve.
  • Add and sign clinical entries yourself, in the same way as the entries you write.
  • If the Agent will not act, see Agent problems.

The guide to using it day to day is The Agent. Patient exclusion is set in Patients.
