Notifications
Read what needs you, mark notifications as read, and choose which ones also reach you by email or push.
Every notification Salisan sends you appears in your notifications. You cannot switch that off. You choose only which ones also reach you by email or as a browser notification.
Read your notifications
Choose Notifications at the bottom of the sidebar for a quick look, or choose Open inbox to go to the full Notifications page. The row shows your unread count. Home links to the inbox too, but you read and clear notifications here, not on Home.
The page has three filters:
- All: everything, grouped by day (Today, Yesterday, then dates). Items that still need you are pinned above under Needs attention.
- Needs you: alerts and work assigned to you. The count shows how many are unread.
- Updates: information only, such as a colleague joining or a task you created being completed.
Choose Show earlier to load older items. Each row says what happened and gives a short reason or next step. Choose the row to open the related page, for example the task or the patient.
The unread count on the Notifications row counts only alerts and assigned work. Updates never add to it.
Mark notifications read
Opening a notification marks it read. To clear one without opening it, choose Mark read on its row. To clear everything, choose Mark all as read on the page, or the matching control in the quick list.
Marking a notification read changes only your own view. It does not complete the task or fix the cause behind it. A task you were assigned still needs you to accept or decline it in Tasks.
Security notices, such as a new device signing in or a changed password, tell you to act if the change was not yours. Do not clear them before you have checked.
Choose email and push
Open the gear in the quick list (Notification settings), or go to User settings and choose the Notifications tab. These settings are yours alone.
Email has one switch per kind of notification, in two lists. Needs you covers kinds that ask for action, and Updates covers information only. The kinds include Tasks, Patients, Calendar, Care plans, Forms, Documents, Team and Support, plus Billing for practice owners.
- A switch turns email on or off for that kind. Your choice is saved at once.
- A row marked Always cannot be switched off. Security and sign-in notices and finished exports are always emailed.
Push on this device turns on browser notifications for things that need you. Push is set per device and browser.
- Switch on Push on this device and allow notifications when your browser asks.
- If notifications are blocked for the site, allow them in the browser's settings and try again.
- On an iPhone or iPad, first add Salisan to the Home Screen.
The switch is not offered if your browser cannot receive push notifications.
