Skills
Teach the Agent your own procedures with skills, and choose which skills it uses.
A skill is a short set of written instructions that the Agent follows, for example how your practice writes a referral letter. Skills are listed in Agent settings, on the Skills tab. Opening /dashboard/skills takes you there.
Skills guide how the Agent works. They do not give it extra access: it still follows your permissions and patient access.
Use a skill
The Agent chooses a skill itself when its description fits your request. You can also pick one. Type / in the message box and select the skill from the list. The list ends with Manage skills and Get more from the Marketplace.
A skill that is switched off is not used. A skill from the Marketplace that its publisher has withdrawn is marked Recalled and the Agent no longer uses it.
Turn skills on, off or add one
- Choose Agent settings in the Agent, then open the Skills tab.
- Find a skill under Your skills. Each row has a switch labelled with its name, and the header shows how many are on.
- Switch a skill off to stop the Agent using it. This affects only you.
Skills you write and skills your practice shares are on by default. Skills from the Marketplace are off until you add them.
To add a Marketplace skill, search in Search your skills and the Marketplace, then choose Add under From the Marketplace. The skill is added to your own list and switched on. You can also choose Add to My skills on its Marketplace page. Adding a skill changes only your own Agent, not your colleagues'.
Write a skill
- On the Skills tab, choose New skill.
- Enter the skill's name. A new skill is personal (Just me).
- Owners and admins can set Applies to to Everyone at the practice before the first publish.
- In the description, say what the skill does and when the Agent should use it, in the words people use. The Agent reads this description to decide whether the skill fits.
- Write the instructions in the body. Use headings and lists if they help.
- Add tags if you want them.
- Choose Publish.
Your edits save automatically as a draft while you type. A skill is available to the Agent once you publish it. The Agent can also draft a skill for you, but it does not publish it.
If something is missing, the editor shows Fix these issues and lists what to correct.
Share a skill with the practice
Only owners and admins can create or edit skills for Everyone at the practice. Other people can read a practice skill and switch it off for themselves.
Publishing a practice skill changes how the Agent behaves for every member who has it on. Write it as an instruction you would give a colleague, and read it again before you choose Publish.
After the first publish, Applies to cannot be changed. Choose Version history in the More actions menu to see saved versions and restore one. Copy SKILL.md copies the skill as a file. Delete removes the skill, and the confirmation says it cannot be undone.
