To sign

Find the visits you started and have not signed yet, read each note and sign them oldest first.

ForDoctorsNurses

To sign is your queue of unsigned visits. A visit stays unfinished documentation until it is signed, even when its text has saved. The page needs access to clinical records.

Find unsigned visits

  1. Open To sign in the sidebar. The row appears only while you have unsigned visits. The visits-to-sign phrase at the top of Home also links here.
  2. Stay on Mine for visits you started. Choose Everyone to see unsigned visits across the practice, limited to patients whose clinical records you can open. Each tab shows how many visits are waiting.
  3. Read the row: the patient's name, the visit title and type, and how long it has waited, for example 5h or 3d. A wait of two days or more shows in a warning colour.

The list is oldest first, because the visit that has waited longest is the one most at risk of being forgotten. The number on the sidebar item counts only your own unsigned visits. When none are left the row leaves the sidebar, and the page says Nothing left to sign.

On a wide screen the list sits beside a preview of the selected note. On a phone, each row opens the visit note, where you sign as described in Visits and notes. A patient's record also shows an Unsigned marker while one of their visits is open.

Sign a visit from the queue

The preview shows the whole note, read-only. Read it, then sign without leaving the page.

  1. Choose a row, or press J for the next row and K for the previous one. The oldest unsigned visit is selected when you arrive.
  2. Read the note. A line below it names who is signing and the time, in the form "Signing as" your name.
  3. Choose Sign & next, or press Ctrl+Enter (Cmd+Enter on macOS). The visit is signed and the next unsigned one opens.
  4. Choose Skip to leave a visit for later and move to the next. Choose Open full note to read or edit it in full first.

A signed row stays in the list marked Signed until you leave the page, so you can see your progress. When the queue is empty the page says how many visits you signed. You can sign a visit when you can write to that patient's clinical record.

If a note holds findings that are not in the record yet, the queue does not sign it. A line tells you how many entries are waiting, and Open full note is the main button. Add them to the record in the note, then sign there. See Visits and notes.

Signing cannot be undone. It saves the note and seals the signed version. Anything you change afterwards stays visible as an amendment.

If signing fails, nothing is signed, the visit stays selected and the reason appears beside the button. Findings that were already recorded stay in the record.
